| ... For Daily Use, The Ringlets Trio Part Records, PART-CD 657.001
Since 1986 The Ringlets Trio are cruising around the world, still consisting of Gunnar Fick (Lead Vocals & Upright Bass), Ulrich van der Schoor (Backing Vocals & Guitar) and Christof Woller (Drums & Percussion). So far they have supported many bands, like the Stray Cats, as well as backing up stars like Dale Watson in the USA. Various videoclips and TV appearances are also on their bill. The band members themselves call their music rockabilly, but you can also find many other musical influences and styles in their songs such as rock 'n' roll, western swing, blues and jive. After a period of 6 years, the band released a new album called "....For Daily Use" in 2003. Like mentioned before, this album contains many styles from the so called "American Roots Music" from the 40's and 50's: ,,There is too much good shit around in the R&R Styleguide!" On this album you can find hard driving rockabilly tracks like "Break Some Rules", as well as Jivers like "Two Tone Shoes". Also, for he first time the band has recorded western swing tunes. Therefore, they have contacted the well known musician Jancee Wamik (from the combo "Jancee Pomic Casino" and "Gerry Lee And His Wanted Men") to join them on the album as a special guest on the Lap Steel Guitar. You can hear the result of this cooperation on the tracks "Straight Ahead" and "Top Of The World" (Gordon/ Dee). The album contains 5 cover songs, all with different musical styles: "I'm Commin'Home" (Horton/Franks), "Mobile Alabama" (Gordon), "Love Bug Crawl" (Bull/Foshee), "Top Of The World" (Gordon/ Dee) and "Baby Take Me Back" (Schroeder/Weisman). The rest of the songs on the CD (in total eleven out of sixteen tracks) are originals written by bandleader Gunnar Fick.
